Membership FAQ’s

Who can join?

Our community is a circle of women supporting women; individuals 18 years and older who live and identify as female are welcome to join.

What does it cost?

Dues are $40/year.

We are a not for profit organization. The fees go towards our charities. We also send $25.00 of each fee to the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. They use it for service fees, office supplies and charity.

What do I get?

Joining the BHBL Women’s Club feels a bit like stepping into a well-loved novel where every chapter comes with a new reason to smile. One week you’re packing backpacks for local kids or organizing supplies for a women’s shelter; the next you’re helping plant flags in freshly cleared park soil—each project a tangible reminder that civic pride and compassion pair beautifully.

Our monthly meetings double as “Lunch & Learn” gatherings: a light meal, a tempting dessert tray, and a guest speaker who sends you home with fresh insight. In between, the Lunch Bunch meets for an extra midday catch-up—no agenda, just conversation that refills the tank. When the sun’s out you’ll find us picnicking under shade trees, splashing away a hot afternoon at a pool party, or swapping paperbacks at book club before a friendly round of board-game rivalry.

The calendar’s crown jewels arrive like clockwork. Autumn brings a day at Lakeside Farms—think crisp air, warm cider, and family-style comfort food. Winter’s highlight is our Turf Luncheon fundraiser: raffles, laughter, and a room humming with purpose. Spring sends us to Albany for a weekend convention at the Marriott, where members and local children exhibit artwork, compete for ribbons, and collect enough inspiration to power the year ahead.

In short, the perks are as plentiful as the friendships that grow from them, and pride in our shared impact is the ribbon that ties it all together.

How much time is expected?

Attendance to meetings would be appreciated and any volunteer hours you sign up for - around 5 hours per month is average.

What’s the joining process?

Email any board member your interest to start the process.

Communication Channels?

Meetings reminders are sent via email and phone calls. We have an active Facebook page and updates listed here on our website.

What is the Inclusivity Policy?

Our club welcomes all women ages 18 and up, regardless of race, religion, background, political affiliation, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, or ability.

We believe in the strength of community built on mutual respect, kindness, and shared goals. Every member brings unique experiences and perspectives that enrich our collective mission.

Discrimination, harassment, or disrespect of any kind have no place here. We commit to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive space where every woman feels valued, heard, and empowered.

Together we grow stronger.
